Susan Walker

I was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a major in English—British and American literature--and a minor in Classical Studies (Greek language and culture). I continued on with graduate work at Carolina, completing my Master’s in English at Middlebury College (Bread Loaf School of English and Oxford University campus sessions). Highly qualified in my subject area, with a Gifted and Talented endorsement, I have extensive experience in Socratic Seminar and student publications and a student-centered approach to teaching. Some publications include work completed during my time at The Foxfire Fund in Rabun County, Georgia; research contributions to Ted Rosengarten’s TOMBEE: Story of a Cotton Planter; original, student-research-based publications at Beaufort Middle School. Additionally, I have taught at both USC-Columbia and Clemson University.
